London based label, Fortuna POP! has been thriving for 20 years now and they're not slowing down any time soon. They serve up some of the best guitar pop around with releases from Joanna Gruesome, Evans the Death and Comet gain. We got to see what Sean, founder of the label, had to say.
When did you start Fortuna POP?
Twenty years ago, when Britpop stalked the land.
What made you decide to start a label? Boredom.
What's your favourite thing about having a label?
I like to watch the money burn and float up the chimney.
What do you look for in a band before you sign them?
Quick feet and the ability to see a pass.
Any bands you're super excited about?
They all rock my world but get there early for Bleurgh, a Blur covers band with members of Allo Darlin’, Tigercats, Night Flowers and Fever Dream, and for Beds In Parks, a new band formed by Finn from Hatcham Social and Joanna from A History Of Apple Pie.
What is the next release everyone should be on the look out for?
The new Evans The Death album is going to surprise a few people.
What can we expect from the Label Mates All Dayer?
Genius and chaos in equal parts.
